Here's what they had to say about the project: "When Girls Rugby Club drew attention to the lack of facilities for female players in grassroots rugby, it struck a chord with Reeds Rebels, based in Weybridge, Surrey. Reeds has built a thriving, competitive and truly special girls rugby scene in recent years, with over 100 minis players. It’s a venture warmly supported by the whole club, but budget constraints and an ageing (we like to think distinguished) club house meant the girls had only the most basic toilet facilities."View this post on Instagram
"One of Reeds Rebels’ secret weapons has always been its parent community, and so a group of mums got together to make improvements: brightening and modernising the loos, making sure sanitary items were available, and setting up a notice board dedicated to girls rugby. Plans are under way to build girls changing rooms, too."Our u10 and u11 girls are enjoying learning about the scrum! Fancy trying out a new game? "The girls love their new facilities – demonstrating that shoestring-budget, volunteer-led projects can really lift a girls’team and reinforce a sense of belonging."Our u10 and u11 girls are enjoying learning about the scrum!
