Girls Rugby Club
Player Welfare Survey
A Global Rugby Club
Built by Girls.
For Girls.
In recent months we’ve listened with grave interest as a number of former international rugby players have filed claims against World Rugby, the RFU and Welsh Rugby Union over failures to protect them from the risks caused by concussion.
In response, academics have called on the government to enforce a ban on contact rugby within schools over concerns about the impacts of concussion on young people.
Here at the Girls Rugby Club we take these issues very seriously and we also take their impacts on the game of rugby seriously. Player welfare is of the utmost importance to us and we want to support girls and women to play in the safest possible environment.
While it’s not up to us as a club to take a position or express our personal opinions, we do have the power and responsibility to canvas yours. By doing so we’re aiming to gauge your thoughts, feelings, concerns and ideas and provide a platform for those to be heard.
We’ve put together a questionnaire addressing some of the issues outlined above. We would be grateful for your honest and open responses, which will help us to understand all layers of the matters at hand and how they can be addressed in a way that will enable us all to enjoy the game we love.
Please be assured that your responses will remain anonymous.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.
